MAPP® Merino Wool Range

What is MAPP® Merino?

MAPP Merino Fibre, derived from Merino sheep's wool, is engineered for temperature control, helping the wearer stay comfortable in diverse settings. It accomplishes this by:

  1. Adapting to changing conditions, regulating the body's micro-climate.
  2. Emitting heat while absorbing moisture.
  3. Enhancing natural cooling processes by efficiently dissipating body heat.

How is Merino Fibre Made?

  1. Shearing: The Merino sheep are sheared, giving the manufacturers the necessary wool
  2. Cleaning and Carding: The wool is cleaned, graded, and carded into long, narrow strips
  3. Spinning: Before being placed onto reels, the wool is spun in preparation for weaving
  4. Weaving and Knitting: Both weaving and knitting are done with the yarn using an industrial knitting machine
  5. Dyeing and Post-treatment: The finished fabric is coloured and, occasionally, given chemical treatments after dyeing

Technology

Breathable, Lightweight and Flexible. Designed to transfer moisture from your body to the surface of the garment for rapid evaporation, our Merino wool fabric makes sure that you don’t end up drenched in sweat after hours of bush-bashing and deer stalking.

Our Merino gear is made from MAPP® Merino wool.
