Packed with breathability features that let you dump excess heat quickly, the MacKenzie Anorak is designed for the bush-bashing, animal-carrying, mountain climbing hunter who is putting in the miles.
The lightweight and packable nature of the MacKenzie Anorak makes it a real lifesaver for the days of dodgy weather in the field – where you need to fit a waterproof and breathable outer layer into the backpack.
As with our Tussock Jacket, the outer layer fabric of the MacKenzie Anorak is 100% polyester mechanical stretch peached twill which is extremely tough and highly hydrophobic. The mechanical stretch helps with movement and conformity and the peached finish helps to lesson surface abrasion noise. Coated in an exclusive military-grade DOR® (Durable Omni Repellent) to enhance the repellence of water, blood, mud, ice, oil and other liquids, the external layer is tested to withstand 40,000 mm of water over 24 hours.
Internally we have protected our Hydrotech© membrane with a micro tricot gauze layer which rounds the fabric out to a total weight of 270 grams per square meter. Combined, this three-layer advanced technology allow for 23,357 grams of water vapor per square meter to exit the anorak from the inside over a 24-hour period. When you add in features like the under-arm pit zips, getting rid of body moisture becomes a breeze.
The long back keeps your butt dry when carrying out an animal or glassing from the hillside, and two bellowed pockets at the top of the anorak frees up space for the harder hunter who has a belt sitting over the top of outer layer.
At the top of the anorak an embedded ergonomic cinch system gives the hood a close contour fit and offers the wearer plenty of options to adjust for the most comfortable fit around the neck and head.
A customized YKK AquaGuard® zip-puller makes it easy to use the zipper when your hands are cold, and double-storm flaps down the half-zip of the anorak make sure that any water is directed away from the zipper.
Another feature is the SILVADUR™ antimicrobial technology treatment, which significantly reduces the risk of being winded during a hunt, by neutralizing odour-causing bacteria upon contact with the anorak.
